Orpheus Island Resort is an exclusive and romantic resort for travellers seeking quality experiences in a natural, relaxing and rejuvenating environment. Orpheus Retreat - 17 studio style rooms complete with their own private patio, ensuite bathroom and personal spa.

Nautilus Suites - 4 very spacious suites offering a huge private patio, ensuite bathroom, separate lounge & bedroom area and personal spa

Orpheus Island rates include accommodation, all meals, use of motorised dinghies, coral viewing trips aboard a glass bottom boat, canoes, catamarans, paddle skis, snorkelling equipment, light fishing gear and selected interpretive activities. DINING:

One of the true highlights of an Orpheus Experience is the cuisine. The restaurant is bordered by rainforest in a relaxed, open-air setting and offers wonderful views across the ocean.

Dining at Orpheus is an indulgence - from breakfast, to alfresco lunches in the courtyard, and finally each evening a seven course degustation-style gourmet dinner. The chef prepares a new menu daily with the emphasis being on seafood and exotic delicacies.

Nothing is forced upon you at Orpheus, but there is certainly plenty for you to do with activities for all levels of fitness or tastes.  The island is a natural beauty of rainforest national park, surrounded by sheltered bays with breathtaking turquoise waters.  Fringing coral reefs are an underwater paradise for divers, snorkellers and paddlers alike.

The more adventurous can take a day trip diving on the outer reef, or you can opt to do nothing at all and relax in a hammock by the beach.

GETTING THERE:

Orpheus Island is located on Queensland's Great Barrier Reef, 190km south of Cairns and 80km north of Townsville. The island stretches for 11 kms through the Coral Sea, 24 kms off the Queensland coast between Townsville and Cairns.

Access to the resort is by a spectacular scenic seaplane transfer. A scheduled service operates daily from Townsville and Cairns.

Flights are available to Cairns and Townsville from all capital cities via Qantas & Virgin Blue.
