Licuala Lodge pronounced
"Lick-you-ah-la" is an award winning timber pole style accommodation in Mission Beach, with plenty of character!
What makes it great?
Guest accommodation in this Queenslander style home is separate to the main house.
All rooms are built in a unique Queenslander accommodation style, and have a queen size bed, ensuite bathroom, fan, fridge, radio alarm and own convenient undercover parking facilities. Each unit opens onto the veranda.
Family accommodation is available in the main house, consisting of two rooms. One room has a king size bed and is fully ensuite with a bath as well as a shower. The other bedroom is right next-door, and has two single beds, but does not have any ensuite facilities. Both rooms have their own verandah. A third single bed can be placed in the non-ensuite room so that a family of five can be accommodated easily. Please note that the Lodge is not suitable for children under the age of ten.
The rate includes breakfast and complimentary drinks (tea, coffee, soft drinks and BEER!!) for the duration of your stay - just help yourself from the fridge in the guest lounge!
On arrival you'll be welcomed with a nice cup of tea or coffee, and a few home-made bikkies or muffins.
Sitting on the verandah outside the unit is an ideal location for a quiet complimentary drink or to watch the visiting bird and animal life - including the flightless cassowary, Australia's largest rainforest bird.
A Tropical Breakfast is served on the upper veranda of the main house. This is included in the rate and consists of cereal, fresh fruit salad, toast, jams, honey, cheese, salami, ham, yogurt, muffins, tea, coffee and real 100% orange juice.
Guests have access to a large comfortable lounge area in the main house, which features a TV, hundreds of books, cards, chess, and various other games. The lounge has kitchen facilities and a laundry next to it.
The swimming pool with beach entry has a great waterfall and the rainforest as the backdrop.
Nearby there are plenty of waterfalls and swimming holes to visit. A great way to spend a couple of hours is a visit to the Bartle Frere Exotic Fruit Farm, or an afternoon at Paronella Park.
PLEASE NOTE: Lodge is NOT suitable for children under the age of ten.
