Updated: 22-Jun-20062 hours drive South of Cairns is Australia's largest island National Park, Hinchinbrook Island. Hinchinbrook Island Resort
Hinchinbrook Island Resort is a great base to experience all that the Island has to offer.
Accommodation at the Resort is designed to blend in with the tropical landscape.
The main Lodge is a open plan timber pole house and is the centre for all activities, containing reception, spacious restaurant area, lounge, bar & is located next to the large freeform swimming pool.
The Tree Houses
Tree Houses are private & spacious, modern, architecturally designed timber cabins nestled in the rainforest and connected by a winding timber boardwalk. Designed to make the most of the views, cool ocean breezes and surrounding rainforest.
Beach Cabins
The 7 self-contained Cabins are separately located and are older style accommodation units located behind the beach. The cabins have basic cooking facilities: mini fridge, electric jug, electric fry pan, toaster & microwave. There is also a free of charge BBQ a small walk away.
Activities
Take a day cruise through the mangrove everglades or the outer Great Barrier Reef, go snorkelling, take a walk through virgin rainforest to isolated ocean beaches or just lay back and choose the ideal spot overlooking the beautiful sandy beach for your hammock, capture the sunset, observe graceful herons, cruising sea turtles or maybe catch a glimpse of the extraordinary dugong.
